We all know Joey just kinda appeared in the neonatal unit one day. And his mom has no memory of ever being pregnant, she just woke up in a maternity ward a few hours before Joey showed up and was 9 months pregnant.
There’s some kind of subtext going on here–Joey wishes he could believe she’s not his mother because he’s starting to develop a me Complex, and thinks that maybe if she’s NOT HIS mother, it’s… less… not okay… for him to want to bone her!
