Unfortunately that was a lead based paint which didn’t help the tree at all, but her heart was in the right place so I’m sure it appreciated that 🙂

In the Book of Joey, it is written that Carmen is both sweet and ignorant. Today’s reading shows us that though verily Carmen be ignorant, yay, is she sweet and pleasing unto the audience in her display of faith that art supplies can let the dead imitate life.

Carmen’s mom is standing right there beside her in panels 3 & 4, since, I’m pretty sure at this point, Joey’s Mom has adopted her, at least in effect if not under law. I don’t know that her biological mother has ever been mentioned, but her father is, apparently, allegedly, actor David Hasselhoff.
Somebody long ago took a shortcut and used sod rather than painted leaves in the spring time. That’s why pine trees exist today.
